I'm in the market for a 22 and have decided on a Ruger, most likely a 22/45. Need a price check on the 22/45™ Mark III™ / KP45HMKIII. (Mark III 22/45 Hunter) Local store, and I know prices vary widely and there aren't a lot of dealers in my area, had one but I was astounded at the price of $479 + 7% tax. Suggested MSRP is $517 on Ruger's website, but that seems expensive for a little 22 plinker.

Is $479 a reasonable price?

That seems a bit high. I have the Blued 5.5" Target version of the MkIII 22/45 and got it for 260.00 including tax at a gunshow. The stainless version of the 5.5" would have been 290.00. Granted this was Jan 07 pricing.

I know the fluting also adds some, but I'll be danged if I'd cough up 500.00 bucks for it.

rantingredneck,
Yes, stainless adds $, fluted barrel adds $, hi-viz sights adds $$$.

$260 is a pretty good price these days for a 5.5" bull barrell and adjustable sights. (I know - that's exactly what I'm getting ready to buy!)

I found that 22/45 stainless bull barrel for $200 on consignment 4 years ago.

The 'hunter' is considerably more expensive, but definitely not pushing $500. Comfortably I'd say $350.

For almost 500 bucks I would suggest picking up the cheapest 22/45 you can find and ordering a Tactical Solutions, Pac-lite upper.

I paid $240 for my 5-1/2" Blued 22/45 about a month and a half ago.

its the sights. my 5.5" target 22/45 was only 229 4 months ago. if you really like those fo sights be ready to pay for them. i cheaped out and put a red dot on it.

Stopped by my local gun store and he had a decent deal on a 22/45 5.5 Bull. I'm out the door just over $300. (and he said he'll throw in a free range day!) I'll change out the sights or add a red dot in the future. 72 hour wait so can't get pics quite yet.

I picked up my 22/45 5.5 Bull blued model #P512MKIII for $245 minus $25 off with a coupon (Yes, it was even in NJ). The coupon covered the tax and some of the cost of the umpteen background checks required here. I'm very happy with it. I put a Hogue slip on on the grip, it fits my hand very nicely. Good luck
