After selling a converted Saiga just 2 days ago (to end up with cash plus a CZ pistol I've been after for years), as chance would have it, I'm looking at yet another converted Saiga.
The guy says his trade interests include CZ rifles, so after he passed on the scoped CZ 452 .22 I offered, I mentioned also having a CZ 527 .223, with a Bushnell Elite 4200 scope.
I did tell him that I was on the fence about letting go of the CZ527, but wanted to check his interest level before talking myself into it, and he e-mailed back that he'd be VERY interested in the 527.
I bought the CZ new from Buds several years ago, bought CZ steel rings and mounted a nice 4200 Elite scope on it, and it's dialed in perfectly (and the irons are dead-on,as well). It's been taken to the range 2-3 times, under 100 rounds total, and is in perfect condition.
The Saiga appears to have been "fully" converted, meaning even the gas tube assembly has been replaced to allow the use of standard AK fore-grips (or whatever those are called, before someone corrects my terminology). The stocks are a nice laminated type that appear to be something from Ironwood ( if so, they're high quality and not cheap.)
Included are two 30 round mags, and several 10 rounders (that I don't believe are the factory plastic mags that come with new Saigas.)
My main concern is that I'm giving up a rifle that i partially got in preparation for what I believe are coming bans on "hi-cap semi-autos", and have kinda been thinning my herd in that respect, so this Saiga would likely be used towards a nice trade, or just to sell when the market is especiially ideal (I did pretty well during all of the panics since '08).
The fact that Russian-made firearms have been banned from import, something unlikely to ever be rescinded, is another plus for the Saiga.
I realize that the CZ is the nicer, finer weapon, over some "stamped-metel Commie junk" (LOL) but decent bolt guns pop-up pretty often, especially here in deer country.
Anyway, you guys get the idea and see where my head is at, any advice, insight, etc, is much appreciated.....
