A Colt in the hand is worth 2 of the Bush? ;-)
I missed this, but yes. :D

A Colt is a good decision either way. Whether it's as an investment or for shooting. Not because it has a little pony stamped on it, but because they were the first ones out of the gate and actually got their act together.

BCM is also a very good company.

If you don't have the money though at the very least I would get a PSA. Those are actually good quality rifles and parts for the money. Pretty much the least I would consider owning

After owning an M&P Sport for 9 months and putting 2200 rounds downrange, its a great choice. I haven't had a single failure and I really like this rifle.

S&W stands behind their products as well.

I find it odd how you are asking here on a gun forum for advice on which AR15 to buy so you can exploit someone if and when there is another panic. Am I the only one who finds that odd? The OP is not asking what is the best rifle for the money he is asking which gun can I flip for the highest profit during the next panic.

I personally think that we the gun buying and gun owning community do ourselves a disservice when we exploit our own. The worst part about this type of exploitation is that most of the people who are taken advantage of are new to the shooting and don't know any better. Their desire to purchase is driven by fear and you are asking us for advice on how to best exploit that fear. Their first meaningful interaction with the gun community is getting raped on a $1200 AR15 that is really a $600 AR15. Way to bring people into the fold.

Seems wrong to me.

I don't see it as "exploiting" at all. During the Obama panic, prices were up and people were still buying like crazy. Were all those buyers being exploited by the dealers? I don't think so. I myself could have forked over a too-high amount for one at that time, but I didn't. Why? Because it wasn't worth it to me. But obviously, many other people thought it was worth it to them, so they paid and got what they bought. Besides, if there's another panic, I'd be selling it to a dealer anyway, and he'd buy it because he can then sell it to a willing customer. Would I be exploiting the dealer, or would the dealer be exploiting the customer? No and no.

If your going to do a stripped lower. Why not get a stipped lower and upper from JP precision. As money permits buy your parts DD barrel, geissele trigger. Build something that you will truely enjoy and appreciate. If you know you will never sell it do an 80% lower. No serial number no background checks.
