Need Handgun Training for New Shooter in Kansas City

I have a woman in Kansas City that is new to shooting, but very excited to get more handgun training. She is a beginner, with an interest in self defense.

I'm looking for recommendations on where you all would send your wives, girlfriends, and mistresses for good foundational training. She is also looking for a place to shoot on a regular basis.

Let's here it from you Kansas City folks....what do you recommend?
