Need help choosing an over/under

I have very little wear on my 682, probably close to 80,000 rounds through it. I try to keep the pivot pins greased, but I am not a real stickler on cleaning. I shoot it and wipe it down with an oily rag and occasionally run a swab down the bore.

As I stated in my original post, this forum has always been helpful in getting answers to my questions. All of you have been great in replying with sensible responses. I will be comparing the Citori models and Beretta 686s.

One question about Berettas: Do the cylindrical bolts create demonstrable wear in the face of the mono bloc at the holes they engage? I recall that being a problem with them many years ago, but maybe they were using a cheaper grade of steel then.

Have no concern about the longevity of the Beretta

IIRC, the Beretta locking pins can be replaced, and oversized pins are available, if needed. The recoil lugs are also replaceable on Berettas. IMHO, VERY few people would actually shoot enough to wear these items, necessitating replacement. The cost of the ammo would far exceed the cost of rebuilding the gun. LOL.

Don't forget the cost of the targets too! If I average the cost of ammo and targets to be $.50/shot, I have spent well over $150K over the last 35 years. Golf might have been a cheaper hobby to pick up!

Much tougher to acheive a perfect score at, however. I'm sure the number of golfers who've shot a perfect 9, much less an 18 or 36, is minscule.

Not too many perfect scores in sporting or FITASC as well. Unlike trap and skeet where perfection is the goal, sporting and FITASC are about hitting as many as you can.
