Over Under Baby...

I want a ''do all'' (hunting waterfowl, upland, and clays) o/u shotgun. So point me in the right direction. I'm thinking 26"-28" barrel, I'm not sure what my budget is yet, 3" chamber, What one should I get and why is it better than the rest?

Lots of choices. I'd skip the real cheapos and go for a used Browning or Beretta. Proven quality, performance and resale value.

Field grade Browning Citori. Have shot all of the above with success for 30 years. 26" or 28" I have one each, prefer the 26 for most things. Longer bbl for passing waterfowl and some gun games. They handle well, balance nice, built like a tank and will last a lifetime.

I agree with the prvious responses, if at all possible buy a used browning/beretta. They are far superior to the cheaper O/U (learned that lesson the hard/expensive way) and will hold their value much better. I personally love my brownings and would not hesitate to buy another... other than the cynergy sporting I hate that cury recoil pad that is cut into the stock

I've shot a few Brownings and thought they were great. I looked around for a long time and just couldn't find a used one.

About 4 years ago I fell into a Ruger Red Label All Weather. Maybe I've gotten lazy as I've gotten older but there is no substitute for stainless steel and nylon stocks. I shoot it, clean it and put it away without worry. Don't have to worry about scraches and blueing anymore. I'm totally happy. And I've never been a Ruger fan but it is the only Ruger I've ever owned that I have kept.
