I realize this won't be worth much but I was hoping someone could help me put a reasonable value to it.

Carcano Rifle, 6.5 Bolt action...
Markings include Fabbrica Darmire Terni *1933* stamped left side of stock, below that NL 5*** (Believe that's the serial #) matched on other parts.
Stamps on left side of barrel are "SG", two crossed rifels with a bullseye and some sort of crown marking.
Top stamped Terni
Right side Fare 25 Terni, further over AG stamped right where the stock and barrel meet.

There are many other things stamped here and there and I'll provide anything I can to get an idea of it's value.

What I suspect...
From the research that I've done (which isn't much) is that this rifel was produced and reworked (barrel length shortened) later at the Terni factory. I can't seem to find the s# range in the available documentation that I've looked through.

My buddy gave it to me for some work I did on his Harley, I figure it's worth at around $100. If anybody can help me out I'd really appreciate it.

The bore is not bad, it was pretty fouled when I got it, surface rust everywhere, not something I could just take out and shoot. I cleaned it up some but wanted to see if it was worth more than I thought before I took it all apart and reblued it, I know that'll bring down the value some but it'll be better protected and something I can take to the range once in awhile. I spent a couple hours on the bore alone, it was really dirty, thought it had deep pitting but it was just gunk, I was impressed how much it cleaned up, can't see any real problems, not much wear on the rifleing, only one spot of pitting and it isn't bad.

I have heard there are some real problems with accuracy on the ones that were shortened, how does yours preform?

any suggestions on how to smooth out the action? The bolt and reciever had some surface rust, and it drags quite a bit, I have used some 0000 steel wool and hopps, but I think I need something slightly more abrasive but I don't want to ruin anything...
