Need help identifying revolver

I was given a revolver today. ( sorry no camera ) Its is a small frame gun with HS model 11 stamped on the bottom of the grip frame. It has made in Germany and .22lr stamped on the barrel. It has white plastic grips with HS on them. Is this an old High Standard revolver? It's blue with a 4 inch barrel. I believe it is in the original box, but the only markings on the box is a hand written HS 11. The cyclinder does not swing out and it is loaded on the right hand side of the cyclinder. Any ideas?

Lemme guess: it sorta "looks like a Single Action" gun but it's got a DA trigger?

High Standard used to make critters like that.

Given it's a 22LR, it's probably safe to shoot. Run the "checkout" to be sure (first post, this forum).

I wasn't aware that HS had guns made in Germany. Odd.

I think you've got a Herbert Schmidt single-action; I'll have to check my books tomorrow, and I'll give you more info on it if I can find any.

No where can I find a name other than just HS. It has fixed sights and looks like a miniture single action revolver. It's slightly smaller than a smith j frame.

The Herbert Schmidt company was in Ostheim, West Germany.

They made three models of cheap .22LR pistols:

The Model 11, Liberty 11, and Eig Model E-6 was a .22 Double action revolver with a 2.5" barrel and plastic grips.

The Model 11 Target had a 5.5" barrel and adjustable sights.

The Frontier Model or Texas Scout had a 5" barrel, was blued and had plastic grips.

Max price for one in excellent condition would be in the $80-90 range.

Thats not it. This one does not have an ejector rod. And it looks alot cheaper. I must convience the wife that we NEED a digital camera.......

Bear in mind that the picture is of a HS Model 21.
Your Model 11 would look different.
If your's is a Herbert Schmidt, that is.

Found a picture of one, but have no way to scan it; if you take the grips off, there should be either "Herbert Schmidt" stamped on the bottom side of the grip frame, or "HS" inside a pointed lozenge. HTH.

Thanks for the help. I took the grips off and found it is a
Herbert Schmidt double action. It looks like a single action
because the cyclinder does not swing out,but it is a
double action. Has a nice 20 lb. trigger. lol

Help finding info on gun

I just came across a H Schmidt .357magn (HS 121-S) proof marked 72 on the left side under the cylinder. It is a six shot, SA revolver, with wood grips; sn 136**. I have searched the internet, I have searched forums, and can find nothing about this gun. I do have pictures, I can email to someone if they need more. Thanks for the help...

This just happens to be a 'Liberty 8' model. Zink alloy (Pot-metal) construction with ferrous liners in cylinder and barrel. Colt 'New Frontier' size! IIRC they were imported mid to late 60's with several different brand names.

That is what I am guessing, but I have not been able to find anything about them producing .357's. Everything I have found has been related to the .22's. any ohter information would be helpful.

I have an HS Liberty 11. It belonged to my father-in-law and hasn't been fired in decades, maybe never. He kept it for self protection.
