Hi all. Please tell me would you think the value of this gun is, what it would quickly sell for.

Pre-ban Oylmipc arms AR-15 with collapsible stock and 16 inch bull barrel. 98%

unknown brand 80rd drum mag

15 x 30rd mags
3 X 15rd mags
1300 rounds of ammo
cheap scope and mount

Thank You

I would try ar15.com Oly is not that sought after but it is a preban. Also your 15 round mags are probally really 20 roounders. I have never heard of 15 rounders. Depending if they are mil contract mags (as opposed to usa) I for a quick sell somewhere around 1500 depnding on what type of ammo that could also make a couple hundred dollar difference. It would be best to peice it out.

Are you looking to buy or sell? Assuming you can prove pre-ban status:

If you're looking to sell, I'd try to get $1,200 for the gun, plus whatever for the accessories.

If you're looking to buy, I wouldn't offer much over $800 for the gun alone.

The 30 round magazines, if all USGI and in good condition would probably go for $20 (maybe $30) each. The 20 roundrs may actually go for more than that, but I'd call them $15 each, again if they are USGI. The drum? I have no idea. The ammo? $100-125 if it's non-reloadable (Barnaulor Wolf etc...), $150 if it's Winchester white box or S&B. Scope and mount is $20.

For the package deal, if I were in the market and status can be proven, I'd offer $1200. If looking to sell I'd try to get $1600.

Thanks guys. I can get it all for 1,000 from a coworker! so I Should buy it!? Money is tight so I only want it if I can make a buck or at least brake even if I need to sell. I don't want to pass on a great buy, if it is. Any one else have an idea on this? I know It's preban for sure but, not sure how to prove it to sell it.

Thanks :D

what is the configuration of the upper?
flat top or carry handle?

how is the logo designed?
some of the real early ones were slabsided with a hexagon logo

does the lower have a raisedd fence around the magazine button?

what is the model name on the lower?

it had better not be a PCR...

a grand for a preban with extras is a deal

Barring an original sales receipt, get him to sign a notarized statement or an affadavit attesting that he personally has observed the gun in a preban configuration prior to September 1994.

Without the evidence that gun is a genuine preban, you won't get preban prices for it if you need to sell it. Also keep in mind that if the ban sunsets without replacement in 2004, it could actually lose value instead of gain it.

Yes, if you can prove preban status and you can get it for $1,000, I'd probably go for it. Get it, shoot all the ammo, enjoy it, sell off a bunch of the mags next time they go up in price and sell the rifle if you need the funs. Pre-bans usually aren't too hard to get rid of, even the Oly Arms. ;)

Don't need a notary if he bought it from a dealer and the dealer is still around. He & you can ask for a copy of the 4473 and there's your proof (his bound books which corroborate the date are business records exception to the hearsay rule).

BTW, at $1k, buy it.

Only $1000? Buy it!

An Oly rifle nowadays is about $700. This is not pre-ban and doesn't have retractable stock.

Retractable stock is $50+

That 80-rounder is worth a $100-200 probably.

15-30 round mags at $15-20 each =$225-300

3-20 round mags at $20 each =$60

1000+ rounds of ammo, $120-220 depending on brand.

Cheap scope & mount at least $50+

Do the math, you win!
