I'm asking this for a freind that wants to install a full stock onto his old Colt SP1 carbine ( currently with the factory retractable stock). Can anyone tell me what's involved here, if it's an easy switch, or if it involves replacing the buffer tube, recoil spring, buffer?
I'm having a hard time finding the info on-line, and thought I'd better ask here.
Thanks for any advice, info, recommendations on parts, etc.

You just need the complete full stock set. Buttstock, buffer tube, spring, buffer and buttstock screw. Simple switch-a-roo.

Unless you want the longer, A2 stock, you want to get an M16/M16A1 length stock and screw (this is important), and you wont need the buffer tube spacer. The A1 stock is the "correct" stock for the gun.

You MUST replace the buffer and spring when you swap stocks.

Bad things can happen running the wrong buffer/spring/stock combo.
