I have a 342-1 Ti hammerless, 38 spl humpback revolver that is missing a part. It is missing the pin that holds the frame mounted firing pin and spring inside the frame. It fell out and now I have a really expensive paperweight. I cannot find it inside any schematics on Midway, Brownells, Numrich, NRA parts book etc.

Is it possible that the part listed will fit all j frames? I am having trouble finding one for the 342 Ti, but can find one for the 640.

Yes, it should fit. The schematics don't have all models, especially newer ones or lower volume guns. Since they are both centennial models it should be fine. The newer bushing FP models wouldn't have that pin, so there should be little chance of confusion.

I will tear down my 640, as I am curious. Never really noticed that little pin before. Must have fallen out last time it was cleaned.

Possible one of us was confused. I know my head was spinning trying to figure out the schematics. Part is a firing pin retaining pin Brownells part 940-215-200.
