I have a Socom on order and I finally decided on a Sightron scope. Here is the scope I ordered:

I'm betting that I will have to take the forward mount off the Socom so I can mount this scope as low as possible. Is it easy to remove the forward mount?
I am going to use an ARMs 18 mount and the #22 rings. Can anyone with experience or skilled in math tell me which rings will work with this setup? (keeping the scope as low as possible)[BD] This is also assuming that I remove the forward mount on the Socom.
This is my first foray into the M14 style rifle. It is also my first time putting a scope on anything other than putting a cheap scope on a hunting rifle. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
