Need help to identify a specific Baby Eagle model

I am fortunate to have been gifted an older IWI Magnum Research 9mm "Baby Eagle" with the original case but no paperwork except the firearm bill of sale for the token transaction between the original owner and myself. He isn't available right now for me to ask exactly which generation of the gun this is. I know it isn't the newest Gen III, but can't tell if it is I or II. Can anyone help me identify the generation so I can print off the instruction manual. The DA/SA mechanism is a total mystery to me, and I want to consult the manual for a tutorial before I dare to try to load and fire the gun. The serial number is 41301457. What else should I look for to determine the identity?

What would your questions be? I don't think it makes any difference between the Generations on how it works.

It is a DA/SA with a safety/decocker. It works just like a Berett M9/92FS, S&W Traditional Double Actions (TDA), Ruger P-Series, and a bunch of other's.

Put a loaded mag into the gun, rack the slide, lower the decocker/safety (the hammer will drop - safely), flip the safety back up, and you're ready to go. Some may carry the gun with the safety on, but I suspect most don't unless required by their employer.

Thanks. I wanted to get the proper assembly/disassembly procedure as well as what you related. I just figured there were some changes to cause a change of generation number and that maybe some procedure would be different.

Also is it safe/proper to cock the hammer to get single action on the first round fired instead of double action? Is that a normal way to use the gun for target shooting?

If you're just blasting at the range, folks will rack the slide to load a round, and then just shoot from there without decocking. You could cock the hammer, but when you load a round, the hammer will be cocked, and if that's what you want, there's no reason to decock.

You can cock the hammer if you desire.

That is how I typically shoot, thumb back the hammer for 1st shot

Thanks. I meant from a decocked state. But I see how at the range chambering a round will set you up for single action shooting.

If I recall correctly they offered both slide and frame mounted safeties in gen2 & 3.. So download both??

They are very much like CZ's and Tanfoglio's (which they are based on) and should field strip very similarly.
