I have a new (to me) Glock 26 with a possible problem. I cannot disassemble the slide from the frame.

Now I have had many other Glocks and know the procedure. Unload, drop the magazine, check the chamber to be sure, point in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Then grasp the slide with the fingers of the right hand over the top of the slide, draw the slide back about 1/10", pull down the two little levers on both sides of the frame and let the slide go forward. However, when my slide goes forward it resets the trigger and stops after 1/2"!

Can anyone figure what going on?

Yep, you got one of those idiotic NY trigger springs! You'll need to pull the trigger again and hold it back. I'd strongly suggest that you remove the NY spring and install an American spring. :p

Should have added that I really like my G26. It's my preferred concealed carry pistol. That's probably not much of a consideration for you in MA, though.

That's probably not much of a consideration for you in MA, though.

Actually it is. I have a Class LTC ALP. Which translated means a Class A License To Carry Firearms issued "For All Lawful Purposes". Which means I can carry concealed. More and more chiefs are issuing ALP licenses, but it is still a very tenuous situation and there are large pockets of holdouts (e.g., Boston) where it is difficult to impossible to get concealed carry priviledges.

BTW, what do you carry for a SD round? I am always curious what other people use.
