My brother in law has had this old gun. Nice shape overall, very little pitting, appears complete other than the two screws that secure the magazine tube to the latch thing at the front. I matched the threads at ace hardware today and the closest thing is M4, metric, which I thought was very strange. I'll try to find the proper screws on numrich or something. Meanwhile I have the gun stripped minus the bolt disassembly, lots of gunk, been cleaning it etc. Any tips to reassembly? His brother took it apart years ago and assembled it wrong and it's been sitting ever since. I watched a youtube vid and it appears getting the bolt and "flapper"/ elevator thing back in properly is a bit of a trick. Also, what makes sure the action bar connects with the bolt after assembly?

couple more questions:
1. any difference between the 10 and 10-A?
2. On the right side of the bolt there is a lever with a claw-like thing at the back. the claw has a spring in it but otherwise the lever appears not to be spring loaded. Is this correct, or is it supposed to be under spring tension? The entire lever, not just the claw, I mean.

Never mind. Figured it out and it appears to be working properly. Pretty fiddly John Pedersen design. Cool though.
Very cool, nice handling gun. I had a trap model I converted to a trench gun replica, complete with wood heat shield and bayonet lug- was waaaay more work and $$$ than I thought it would be, but it turned out nice. I gave it to my dad a few Years back.
I did notice one, ummm, annoying and potentially dangerous habit of that gun. It was possible to pull the trigger before the gun was fully in battery- click, no fire. Then, if you pushed the slide forward the last little bit, the gun would fire! Scared the bejeezuz out of me! Not sure if that is normal for this design or my example had a problem. My gun was in apparently good condition........

A lot of these old pumps would slam fire. This one kinda binds up of you try but will drop the striker early if you aren't pretty authoritative with it. I wager it's probably best to release the trigger immediately after each shot. It seems to go smoother.
