I have load data with imr 7828 powder and 168 barnes bullets. Can I use the same load data but use a nosler ballistic tip instead without causing damage to myself or my gun?

You should b e okay. Just start at the starting load and work up and watch for pressure signs. I've done it with no problems.

Some Barnes are No Lead

.
If you change from a "No Lead" Barnes, the lead core Nosler will be shorter because it is necessary to make back up the gain weight in lead by being made shorter with the more dense material. That may result in a more shallow seating for the same C.O.A.L. (less of the bullet back in the case). Increased case volume is a parameter change that may or may not affect performance and pressure. 7828 is relatively a slow burner, so the difference may be miniscule. YMMV.
