I just got this Remington 700 on a trade and was wondering if anyone could tell me what model it is. It has the black&web stock with a bull barrel and a tactical bolt handle. It is a.308. I have looked on Remingtons web site but cant find any info on it. It also has a bright blue finish not a matte finish. Thanks

The stock may not be original, it might be a Bell & Carlson replacement. It's probably why you cannot match it on the Remington site. Bolt knob may also be an add on.
It's a nice looking unit.

The HS Precision stock is likely from a 700VS (Varmint Synthetic). I had one in .308 and it was matte finished. Looks like someone had an early 700VLS or older 700 BDL Varmint Special and installed it in the HS stock and had the bolt handle installed too.

I would think it was a 700 VS or sendero. That bolt handle is added on, looks like a crooked Badger or a badger knock off. looks like a Warne or Leupold 20moa base possibly. some body probably wanted to build a project long range rifle.

what does the barrel say on the Left side... "Remington 700 .308win ???????" It should say something to give you a clue... mine says Tactical

Sounds like one of the M700 Varmint rifles they made years ago, and someone changed the stock and added the tactical bolt knob. A friend of mine has one of these rifles, and they are good shooters.

24" barrel or 26" barrel? I can tell you that that in not the original stock with the bluing. It appears to be a Remington 700 Varmint model. Does the bolt lock with the safety on?
