I'm looking for a "gooseneck" style rail mount for an M16A1 upper, in order to mount an Aimpoint Micro. Yes, I know that flat-top is better, no I don't want to mount the optic high atop the carry-handle. These are not options. I am familiar with the general category of mount, but I have some specific questions:

1. Which mount is generally regarded as being the best quality? I know that Brugger & Thomet makes one, for around $60. What are the other options?

2. I want this to give either absolute co-witness or, preferably, lower 1/3rd cowitness with an Aimpoint Micro. Does anyone know if the B&T rail does that?

Thanks,

Mike

I've got the Bennie Cooley gooseneck mount which is excellent quality (and about $150). I called the man himself about mounting a micro on it and he said it was developed before the micro red dots and he wasn't sure how to best to attach a Micro to it.
