Does anyone know anything about this pistol? My grandmother left this to my mother. It is a 22lr revolver. engraving reads "CLERKE 1st" Mfg by CLERKE Technicorp, Santa Monica California.

I noticed that the cylinder does not lock and rotates freely unless the hammer is locked back in fire position. It is a six shot, and has a very very heavy trigger and is a DA/SA. :scrutiny:

Cast zinc junk..

They are the poster child for the 'Saturday Night Special'!

They sold new in the late 1960's for about $20 dollars.

If you are really luck, there will be a gun buy back program in your area and you can get $25 out of it.

Sorry to break the news, but I can't think of many worse guns ever made.

It may be shiny looking, but I remember seeing toy cap guns that were better quality pieces than the Clerke revolvers. I could never get up the courage to actually fire one - that is going back to the summer I graduated from high school, so it would have been 1971. Yikes! That reminds me that now I am one of the 'old guys'.

Thanks for the reply's, I did some reasearch on it also, and confirmed my suspicions. I will sell it to a collector and tell my mom to get a better handgun.
