Just before I went on my recient trip, i ordered a Excellent condition Walnut Stocked K31 from Classic arms.
(Have a shooter' from AIM... want this for the collection)

When I got back I opened it eagerly...

It is HORRIBLE, the stock is banged up, finish is WORN OFF, and Mag and a few other parts are RUSTY! (Worst one I've seen)

It's taken a couple days for me to get them to answer their phone...
And they will have it sent back and refund my money... they have nothing to replace it with... and say that they are hard to find... (THANKS)

Anyone know where I can pick up a nice one and break my string of 'bad gun luck'?

i believe the classic arms ones ARE samco's.

almost all the K31's have bad stocks. its just how they are. one of my local gun shops has one with nice (80%maybe) metal. decent stock. but they want 225 for it.

other than that they are tough to get. i paid out the butt to get one while i could ( not 225 out the butt but more than normal ;) )

CFS has some K31's i believe. id call and make sure they arnt back ordered

added: Classic arms has always seemed to be real good about customer satisfaction. will they not replace it?

Oh man !!! I just ordered an "excellent" K31 from samco !!! "excellent condition" does not mean beat to crap and rusty... !!

it better be nice when it comes in...

well. i think i remember a little while ago Classic mentioned them being Samco's and i believe Samco is the only ones still importing K31's

whether century bought the one Samco lists as "excellent" is a whole nother debate. i wouldnt get too concerned. as samco has a much better rep than other importers out there. and i wouldnt be surprised if this k31 is just one that slipped through the cracks at Classic. they really seem to care about customer satisfaction

samco is listing 3 conditions of k31s:

VG $149
select $169
excellent $189

I went for the $189 one, so I am expecting something better than what was described in the original post... Never ordered from samco before, so it's good to know that they have a good rep compared to other importers.

I can send you one from France... but they are over 1K USD here...

one thousand?!?! wow. WOW. that sucks, im sorry to hear that. is it because they are a military rifle or is it just cause thats the price differance?

Different laws... here guns are fairly easy to buy... but priced out of most peoples buying power. (Tax mostly)

Just another form of gun control. Europe is crazy that way...

(BTW: If you think gun prices are crazy... you dont want to know what gas costs. But we do have good health care for free...)

Bill Larry, they are $139.00. The last time I was there they had also stocked about a dozen Swedes- M96s with threaded muzzles. They also have a lot of VZ24, or Yugo 24/47s, I forget which.
The K31s they have are in very goos condition, some walnut stocks and the wood looks great. I also noticed they keep the mags in the back so be sure they match the serial number.

I'm happy with what I got from Classic.

The four in the middle are excellents w/ tag from Classic. The first one on the left is from MCS Firearms; the last one on the right is a private party buy. Everything in the pic is a Samco import.

Bad photo. I'm a lazy photographer.

I've had good luck getting things from samco. I've seen K31s from them and they were in great condition. So a +1 for samco. Just my 2 cents though.

There were heaps of them here a year or so ago, I wasn't cashed up enough to buy one, when I had the money they were gone. A month or so, I went into the shop that was selling them previously and he had a cancelled lay buy that had been buried in the back of the shop. Bingo! I got me a swiss! They are thin on the ground here now.

Keeo looking they are only gonna get harder to find, that's for sure.

man all these pictures make me want another. maybe il squirel away my last pay check and get that one at my local shop

I'm glad I got 2 K31's when the going was good.
One I got from AIM for $89.99 under a gunsmiths special deal they had going a few years back and another I picked up from a buddy online for $180/shipped that included a refinished stock (birch), 98% blueing, muzzle protector and a charging clip.
Both have buttstock tags and I purchased a clamp on mount for glassing the AIM special as its blueing is about 80%, and it is my shooter, the other is my collector, but I still take it out and shoot it, just not as much as the more beat up K31.
Get 'em now while you can, get two because: "Two is one, and one is none"
