i am waiting for my C&R packet to arrive but i'm worried that some of the k31 supply will dry up before i can get my license so i have decided to go ahead and take the plunge and buy my first milsurp. i looked at a lot of rifles but decided on the k31. gonna order a k31 in a walnut stock with a soldier tag for $159. i know it may be a little more that some others are asking but i want to ensure the soldier tag as it is one of the unique thinks about the rifle that makes me want one so bad. has anybody received any bad rifles from classic arms? you know of anywhere i can get a cheaper k31 in walnut with the guarantee of a soldier tag? any and all help is greatly appreciated. i have found that this is going to be addicting even before my first milsurp. already have my eyes on a sako finnish mosin nagant m39, and k98. i figured that would be a good start to a collection.

"Ah, you have chosin wisely grasshopper" The K31 is an excellent rifle.Well built , accurate, smooth bolt cycle. I have not bought from Classic arms , others have with good results. AIM, FGS, Samco, Allan Arms, Are a few other good dealers. I bought most of mine from Dunhams sporting goods , and Gunbrokers.com . Here are average condition k31's, which is about what you can expect from the dealers.Hope this helps... 2006_0630Swiss0033.gif

Talk about a ton of K31s  I love the K31s. I only have one, but I love shooting it. It's so accurate it makes me look like I practice a lot. I am actually embarrassed to admit how rarely I get to go to the range. If you have any regrets about get the K31, I am sure you will have no trouble finding a buyer.

This doesn't really answer your questions, but you won't regret purchasing a K31. It's extremely well built, with a remarkable level of machining and craftsmanship. The trigger is one of the nicest milsurp triggers I've experienced, and I think it helps what is already an accurate rifle.

My only complaint is that the length of pull is a little short, but if I had to wear thick winter gear it would probably be just right. Also, most of the buttstocks look like they were used to pound nails. Still, that's part of its character, which the soldier tag just adds to.

Enjoy your new purchase! I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.

Regards,

PG

Next, get some GP11. It's the cheapest, and it's match-grade.

Wolf Gold is okay too, since it's not made by them, it's made in Serbia.

Norma is $$$ for serious match competition.

The K31 is an EXCELLENT rifle. Good choice! Let us know what you end up with; I lucked into a local-sale walnut stocker with ID tag for $140, everything in great shape.

Ive got 3 K-31's and i still get envious when i hear someone else gettin one.:D They really are the best of the milsurps and the most interesting also.

The k31 is a riflemans rifle, you picked well. I recommend you pick up a beech one when you get your liscense. I think that there are still plenty coming, and they are a steal even at 200 bucks/rifle.
I plan to get one in walnut, and than another beech-to put in a aftermarket stock which I will also bed.

I plan on getting my C&R real soon here, but couldn't wait until then to get a K31. I bought mine from classicarms and love it. I think n10sivern and I are sharing a brain.

Took it out for its first serious accuracy test today, and it is the most balls-on accurate thing I have ever seen. When I get ye olde C&R I'll probably pick up a couple more, because...just wow.

It starts of with K31s and progresses to bayonets and then all the sudden you get M1911 rifles and alsorts Swiss. They really know how to do stuff like that. Luckly I got my M1911 from 1924 as a gift from the neighbour for helping her clean and sell a bunch of them. Not bad that it gave me a <1 moa rifle that is so balanced you don't even feel the 10ib weight of it.
