Need new bullet suggestion-.45-70 Gov't

Hi,

I am new to this forum and am looking for:

(1) bullet molds-0.459" or 0.460" dia;

(2) 405 gr

(3) large & flat meplat, approx 0.330" or larger

(4) gas check design

(5) crimp groove distance to meplat: 0.450" or less

(6) I would prefer 2 grease grooves

***This bullet would be used to feed my MARLIN M-1895 lever action rifle

Go here and get a mold made to your own specs.

I had one made for a model 1895 almost exactly to your nose length/meplat/weight/dia. specs (different grease grooves) and would suggest not going longer/larger than those nose length/meplat dimensions. My Marlin loads great with this bullet but just barely.
