I am looking to buy my friends Sig P220 ST and need some info on what I should offer to him. I've tried to find out info about it and it's looks like its discontinued model. It has about 500 rnds thru it and its like new. Its sa/da and I've shot about 100-200 rnds with no problems. He is selling it with the sig case and 2 8rnd sig stainless mags and he has about 500 rnds of Federal 230grn fmj that he wants $100 for. It has a code stamped below the extractor that reads G 371 706 if that helps. Any help would be appreciated. I'd give you a pic but my dig camera is broken.

P220 St

I own two of them. Excellent automatics with respect to recoil control and accuracy given their weight. Hard to carry on one's hip though. Invest in a good shoulder holster.

Welcome to THR!

I paid around $750 out-the-door (if I remember right) at a local pawn shop for my used LNIB P220ST last year. The P220ST is a great range gun (I really like mine a lot), but since you have already fired around 100-200 rounds out of your friend's P220ST, you already know that.;) I would maybe offer him $600 for the P220ST and $100 for the .45 ammo (like he is asking (which is a pretty good deal for you on the ammo)), for a total of $700 and see what he thinks.

P.S. The number under the slide's ejection port on the frame (above the forward part of the trigger guard) is not a code, it is the actual serial number of the pistol (mine is "G 356 ###").

i bought 2 CPO 220STs earlier this year and paid about $600 for each.

one is in the shop getting tuned and i'm carrying the other when teaching

Agree with the $600 figure. I paid about $575 for a used one on Gunbroker awhile back and I think that was a fluke.

There are issues with newer 220s, check out the sig forum for info about that. I know someone who has a stainless 220 and loves it though.......

Which are still having issues. Some of the very first external extractor went back.

I also second the the $600 offer, or a little lower if you like to haggle. :)

Yesterday, I found the best deal I have seen on a P220ST, and bought it for $575 shipped. BUT mine may have been shot a little more than yours.

Also, CDNN is selling "good - like new" P220ST's right now for $599 + Shipping + your dealer markup (CDNN dosn't sell to individuals). This is also one of the better prices i have seen.
