I am looking for a 30mm scope mount that will clear a a2 front sight on an m4 which I believe that for a 1-4x24 will need to have it's centerline be atleast 1.75" high to do this but if you know otherwise or an exact number please let me know, and also hold zero when removed.

cheaper is better, I have a friend that said he was going to get me a larue lt135 but it looks like he might not come through before I deploy so I need to have solution here in the next couple days if I am to have this here on time.

I just looked at rra's hi rise scope mount, anyone have expierience with them or even suggestions for another 30mm scopemount? I'm desperate for any suggestions now.

I think the RRA Hi Rise Cantilever is the best value going for an AR scope mount. It is a bit cobby looking, but precisely made, stout, and manufactured by Americans. The price is great at $60, no tax, and free shipping from the factory.

However, with that low power range on your optic you will see an image of your front sight. It may or may not bother you. Personally if I was putting on an optic I would either cut the front sight post off or replace it with a sight post free gas block.

its my issued weapon so i have to have the front sight as well as the buis on it which i am now finding may not fit with the mount on.

If you clear the front sight, you're going to be working on a consistent chin weld, rather than a cheek weld. I would suggest that you just get the right mount for the scope that will afford a proper cheek weld and replace the front sight with a flip up.

lets try this, suggestion for a 30mm scope mount or rings/mount combination that will give me a lower 1/3 cowitness with room for the buis?

Call Larue Tactical. I do believe that they make a mount that will fit what you are asking for. Something like an SPR 1.93 or something like that.

You can get close to the functionality of the Larue by using a Yankee Hill 5" extension riser and get the height you want using the rings.

a very kind friend of mine has been so kind as to send me a larue lt135 1.93" and a ema cheek riser for my stock so I think it is problem solved :D , what a great friend I have.

now another question, anyone know what that rings are you clamp onto eye piece to help you turn the magnification ring easier or where I may find one that fits a dms-1? and if I were to get the butler creek flip op eye piece/ objective lens covers anyone know what size I will need?
