Hey fellow members, I am thinking of purchasing a Fabrique National police model pump 12 guage shotgun from CDNN for 269.00 can anyone tell me about this rifle is it a good shotgun for the money? I know FN makes good quality weapons, but I am kind of on the fence about their shotguns, Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The FN is actually a modified Winchester Model 1300 shotgun.

FN and Winchester are owned by the same corporation.

As far as I know, the semi-finished parts are send from Winchester to FN in Europe for final assembly and finishing.

As basically a dressed-up Model 1300, the gun should be a good performer.

The FN shotguns are assembled in the Winchester factory, right along side the 1300s. There is no reason to ship parts to Belgium for assembly when you have a fine facility right here.

The advangates of an FN over the Winchester:
1) Interchangeable Choke Tubes
2) FN name on shotguns
3) ............

Disadvantages
1) Slightly higher costs
2) ...........

You pay your money and pick the very best one.

From the FN shotguns that i've seen, the look exactly like winchester 1300 defenders. My friend has a 1300d and it is awesome, you should get the shotgun, 269 isnt a bad price.

Thanks all for the comments and advice!
