I just found and bought a 1851 brasser (civilian model) made in 1970 with the letters "FAGS" in a box on the bottom of the grip frame. I have NO idea who the manufacturer was and the only other writing is "Cal .36 Navy Model Made in Italy" on one of the side flats. The revolver is in excellent shape cosmetically and only problem is with the sear engaging consistantly which is an easy fix...cool gun, probably for sale once I get it up back to battery

Prarie dawg, I went over it with a fine toothed comb even checking under the cylinder on the frame, no dice. Maybe I'll find some hidden mark when I pull it apart to fix it.

FWIW, my list of makers registered with the Brescia proof house shows F.A.G. (without the "S") as a trademark of Marino Zubani.

Don't ask me how Marino Zubani gets to those letters (no snickers, please). I suspect F.A. stands for Fabbrica d' Armi, but the G or GS could be many names.

Hi Gents,
Sltm1 i just saw your MP. It's checked
But, i'm interesting you give us somes pics. (Marks, Stamps, Sentances & more).

Last weeks my search to find this manufacturer belong this name.
We are sure at 90%, but it's not enough to affirmate that's the right manufacturer.
