I just bought a new scope and I don't know what height of rings to get.
It will go on a Browning abolt. The scope has a 50mm lense. I am going to use a two base mount. Thank you.

The 50mm will probably need the high or very possible the extra high rings, in order to get the lense to clear the barrel.

I put a Springfield Armory with the 56mm on my Rem. 700 milspec, first tried the high rings and the scope would not clear the barrel. so I went with the super high and low and behold we have clearance.

Not sure about your set up but it would be a safe bet you just might clear barrel with high rings. But be resdy to exchange for the extra high one.

Good luck and hope this helps

fobb ... rusty memory here but i think ''mediums'' will give a lift of around .68" .... but if you have a 50mm objective then could well be you need the large.

You'll need I think too to project a line from receiver forward, over barrel . and relate that to center line of scope, re clearance for that large objective. .. lay rifle and scope on sheet of paper and make some marks and measure.

Thus far I think you'll need large .. .

Fobb;

A lot of this depends on the action & barrel contour also. For a common gun like the Browning, most manufacturers can give you a suggestion as to which to get.

For instance, the Natchez master catalogue contains a large amount of info from Leupold, Weaver, & Burris, as to scope, ring, & action fit. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't available on the various web sites also. I just prefer paper.
