Need to change springs with mag extensions?

Ran across a post stating that one must change springs when adding +1 Pearce grip extensions on a Glock 27/26.

Is this true? I was under the impression that G27 and its bigger brother G23 uses the same mag springs. So that if we made the G27 mag longer (by adding a +1 extension) it still would be within normal parameters and still have that GLOCK reliability.

My set up is +1 in the chamber and 9 rounds in the G27 mag with Pearce +1 extension. (Technically, I should be able to put 10 rounds in the mag...but I don't. I feel better carrying -1 in the mag...with one in the chamber.)

Opinions on the spring issue?

I have had an occasional FTF with my Gen3 27 with the +1 grip extension. I always assumed that it was just a fact of life and went back to the factory floor plates. The +1 grip makes the grip the same length as my G23 so I couldnt see the benifit of having a smaller grip only to make it the same size as my G23. The grip is the hardest part of the gun for me to conceal.

the +2 for my g29 really screwed up after about 3 12rd mags. I pulled it off and went back to the +0 pinky extension.

I've heard good things about the +10% Wolff springs for use with the mag extensions. But I rather have 10 for sure over 11 that might spill out the bottom of the magwell when the extension falls off.

I have had 0 problems with Pearce mag extensions on my G26.

The G26/27/33 use the same spring as the G19/23/33. I've never had an issue with +1, +2 or +3 bases on sub-compact mags. No need for anything special IMO.
