Need to ID revolver for spare parts

Hi, all,

I've got a stainless steel .36 Colt Navy "made in Italy" (per barrel marking) sometime in the 70s. The frame is a mirror finish, while the rest is a flatter finish, but still looks like stainless. I need to get new nipples for it, but it looks like I have to choose between Uberi and Pietta.

I don't have digital or scanner, so I can't photograph it, but there is a worn logo on the brass butt plate that appears to be the lower stem of a letter (possibly a P).

Can anyone offer clues as to who probably made this pistol, or post a Pietta logo? I can't find a Web site for them.

The nipples are pretty beat, and I need to replace them due to misfires.

You could just remove the nipples and measure them. Aftermarket replacement nipples are sold by OEM manufacturer and/or thread size/type of gun.

If you don't have a thread gauge (and the threads might be metric, so you'd need both metric and an english/SAE gauges), just take one to a local hardware store and compare it to the various bolts.

The most likely thread sizes are 1/4X28, 12X28, M6X1 (metric) and M6X0.75. Once you know which thread it is you can pretty much narrow the choice down to one or two generic types that are different by overall length.
