I'm looking to do some casual clay bird shooting and would like some basic info about the various O/U shotgun offerings out there. My budget would be preferably $1,100 to maybe $1,300. I don't ever intend to hunt with it. I'm not entirely new to sporting 12ga shotguns, but have only fired a couple of hundred rounds over the years. I have managed about a 50% hit rate whenever I have fired my 1100 or Browning BSS.

I just got the sudden itch to buy a nice looking O/U that my 21 year old son and I could share during range outings, but I don't know the difference between a Ruger Red label, from a Win 101, to an SKB, to a Weatherby Athena or Rem 3200....or how they should balance. All I know is they sure do look purtee. I noticed the barrels can range anywhere from 26 to 30" long, usually have interchangeable chokes, and can be gotten in 3" chambers. (I assume if I got a 3" chamber I can also fire 2 3/4" in it??......and 28" barrels provide better sighting radius then the 26"??)

Anyway, this is just some of the questions. I'm not sure a lot of guys here are interested in fancy o/u shotgun shooting. (doubt that 18.5" police 870's have a lot in common. LOL) So, if this isn't the place, can you o/u shooters refer me to a good shotgun forums websight to have such questions answered?
