I usually have on me my EDC pistol but not 24/7. I already have a large Gun safe for storage. Since the birth of our little one not too long ago, I have decreased the # of pistols I have throughout the house because I do not have a safe way of storing them.

So I am looking for a decent quality safe/box to place some pistols throughout my house.

I am hoping to buy one with some sort of number or sequential buttons used to open versus a key safe.

Since I want to buy at least 2-3, I can't have them being over $60 each.

Thlax,

I was looking at the Nano Vault 300 actually. It seems it would be good for a drawer which I like.

I am also looking for one that opens from the front. Anything Cheaper than the MicroVault?

I love my nano vault 300. Only problem was most places were sold out! Great for small storage and or transport in non CCW states for me.

The mini vault has a drop down front, but it's like $130ish I think but very nice. I haven't done extensive research though

Just got a nano 300, $30 at academy (sporting goods chain). I will probably use it more for transport in non CCW states as Thlax mentioned, but also to keep curious hands away when I do not have immediate control. It holds a G17 and reload.

I think for the price those small cases are good to keep your kids away and since that sounds like your main objective it's probably your least expensive also. It won't deter a thief much though. Maybe if you can bolt them down somehow. Don't depend on the cable stopping them. I have heard from a couple people that say a serrated knife will cut is pretty easily. Haven't confirmed that myself.

FAS1, you are absoultely correct. These won't stop a thief at all, and they are not quick access. To keep curious hands away they are okay, but after a kid is over the age of 3-4 and figures out how a combination lock works and starts at 000 and goes to 999 they will figure out the code.

I don't want to try on the cable, but the cable is pretty flimsy and I have cut similar cable locks with my Leatherman wire cutters (not the heaviest duty wire cutters in the world).
