Never Reload during COVID quarantine

I'd shoot them. I load .380 with magnum pistol primers as a rule. Not for any particular reason other than I have them and don't use them for anything else. 38 Super gets small rifle primers only, 9mm gets all the regular small pistol primers. Easier for me to keep track.

No issues the small rifle primers are a bit harder to pierce so they will stand up to rifle pressures. So long as they go bang when you pull the trigger you won't notice any difference.

That is strange, a while back a friend of mine had about 40% of the rounds (SRP small flash hole) loaded for his rail (by someone local) gun a 6PPC fail to go off.
When He sent me the loaded and the empties, the ones that did fire the primers were about .006 taller than the ones that did not.
Has anyone here ever have that happen?

Probably just not seated deep enough.

EDIT: I'm not sure I read your post right. Not sure whats going on there.

I use to stick with sp in sp then ran out so I used small rifle instead. No problems.

I never load to the max so nothing to worry about.

Pull the bullets & test the primed cases to see if the EZ380 will touch them off. Or prime a few cases with just the SRP's and test them no powder/no bullett. My striker fired guns no likee Small Rifle Primers but every other handgun I own eats them like candy.
Good suggestion on testing loading a few with only primer and no powder or bullet.

I need a new conspiracy theory because all of the old ones keep coming true. You know, that Blue Dot can have crazy pressure spikes in 357 Magnum. What did yall think I was talking about? :)

I still haven’t seen any real evidence that Blue Dot eats .41Magnums. Maybe the truth is out there and I haven’t stumbled across it yet but, until I see it, it’s still just Big Powder manipulation.

I'd shoot 'em. Or try. If you're pistol doesn't set them off, you can pull the bullets and reuse them. At the least you'll know if you can use small rifle primers.

Yes you should shoot them because as long as they are just the SRP they will work, but if it was the SRMP I wouldn't shoot them. About the only difference between the SPP & SRP is the thickness of the cup, the rifle primers being thicker, so your striker fired guns may not set them off.
The most I did during the covid quarantine was process brass & I did a lot of brass to keep from going crazy. I'm not the type to just sit, I have to stay busy.
Any time I'm reloading I only do it one step at a time & I leave the cardboard from the primers on the reloading table. The same for the powder I let the powder container sit next to the powder thrower. When I'm done with that reloaded batch everything gets cleaned up & put away before I start a new batch.

4 vaccinations, and I still caught Covid after flying home from Europe this past July. :fire:

Mine was just a cold with joint stiffness, I felt bad for about 36 hours. Still, I got a full week of Covid time off work right after taking three weeks of vacation for my trip.

I loaded quite a bit after the stiffness went away. :)

Stay safe.
