For years and years I've been pretty against Glocks on account of the "grip angle" ergonomics, trigger, etc. When Gen 4 came out I thought I'd give them another chance if I found one to handle, see if the new grip fits my hands better, etc.

Long story short, I finally handled a Gen 4 G21 and... it came home with me.

I have to say, so far I'm pretty darned impressed with this gun, no wonder people love em. I've handled/shot most of the other Glocks (gen 2 and 3) and none felt this good in my hands, which is strange since I have pretty small hands. Trigger on dry firing is decent, not great but not too different from my Ruger SR series that I'll need too much practice to be comfortable with it.

Its a big gun (naturally) but I tossed it in a crossbreed supertuck that it fit as a test and I'll be darned if it doesn't conceal almost as well as any of my 1911's. Assuming it shoots well I might have a new EDC (sorry 1911's!), and I gotta say 13 rounds of .45 for about the same difficulty concealing (pretty much none, really) is pretty appealing.

Sadly I won't get it out to the range until next week (at least) so I won't know how it shoots for a bit, but so far I'm pretty happy.

Double sadly, I don't have a camera, but we've all see Glocks... so no-one is missing much.

Same thing happened to me. I've had XD's and XDM's. Once the Gen 4's came out and I handled one at a gunshow a couple times it slowly grew on my and I ended up switching over to Glocks.

Well, I finally got some good weather and some range time. Ran about 500 rounds through the new G21. Mostly 230 grain FMJ, a box of 185 JHP and some 230 grain JHP (Golden Sabers, my carry ammo).

Glock ran like a top, which wasn't terribly surprising considering the reputation. What did surprise me was that after a little trigger time it was pretty much as accurate in my hands as any of my 1911's. I figured I'd need a few hundred more rounds to get to that point, but I was pretty much dead on (for me, I'm no bulls eye shooter) after one mag, somewhat mushy trigger and all. As a bit of a trigger snob, I'm pleased.

I had one brass to the face somewhere in the 100th round, and after a bit my trigger finger was starting to get a little sore, I guess that's the "trigger slap" I've heard about? Either way it was no big deal, just different.

The grips are definitely bigger than what I've been shooting lately (1911's) and after a few hundred my hands were starting to get a little sore as well, but that just means I need to shoot more.

Overall I'm pretty darned pleased with my new .45, so much so that it might just work its way into my carry rotation pretty quickly. Assuming all the Gen 4's have improved palm swells (for my hands) its possible a G 19 might make its way into my safe before too much longer. And maybe a 20, assuming I get set up to load 10mm like I plan to.

Yeah, I was kinda worried about there being a fight between the Glock and my 1911's when I put them in the safe...

They seem to be getting along fine though, probably had the Sigs mediate.
