Yesterday I took the S&W 66 out and after 30 rounds of Fiocchi .38 SPL I couldn't close the cylinder. First thought the ejector rod had loosened but it was tight. Didn't want to force it closed and potentially bend the ejector rod so that was it for the day. My aging eyeballs couldn't see anything so I asked the RO what he thought may be going on, he commented that it had a good amount of carbon buildup. What was amusing was that the prior session I'd taken the 686 and shot from the same batch of that .38 SPL Fiocchi and that gun didn't get fouled up.

I regard all factory ammo as 'future brass to reload'. I have never had any problems with any of the big brands that were the fault of the ammo.
