Pass.

Very expensive stock; You could buy another 10/22 for that!

I would suggest one of the other stock sets like the G36 stock instead. Much cooler IMO

it's cheaper than the red jacket arms PS90 knockoff stock.
I personally don't care for the PS90 but that's just me. everyone needs an oddball in the safe and a PS90 knockoff that shoots 22LR is definitely not something that everyone has.

I just ordered one and cannot wait to get it.
No such thing as overpriced. Either you are willing and able to pay or you are not. I am. I like it. I already have so many 10/22 stocks, barrels, actions, trigger groups, sights, slings, and magazines that I have racks build in the shop to hold them. I like the platform. I like to put together different rifles to play with. This stock will just be added to the foolishness! ;)
I do agree with those who say the Butler Creek folder it rock solid. I have one and I like it a great deal. Run it with a factory barrel with the barrel band in place and wrap the folder with parachord and these are as tactical and reliable as anything out there with a good BX-25 or two coupled up 10-rounders.
BUT, the BC is still quite a bit longer than the 90/22, even when folded. The 90/22 will fit into a 28-inch case or into a backpack with several magazines and the fake mag holder filled with extra rounds onboard. That, my friends, is very handy.

Personally, it doesn't do anything for me.

But if you like it and it's within your budget allowance, as you've said, then buy it.

Then give us a report of your first hand experience.

If you end up NOT liking it for whatever reason, you can either live with it anyway or put it up for sail and recoup some of your money. Like Gunbroker or something.

Know for sure how well or poorly the trigger works before buying. This configuration would be a lot of fun for sure. However the mechanics of how it goes bang should not be overlooked in the decision process.

Buddy of mine here bought one for one of his 10/22, he is one of the armorers here at work as well as an instructor. He is very pleased with it....I have not played with it myself.

Because I'm not married anymore, my ex would never have let me buy it. But it was perfectly reasonable for her to buy 9 candles from her "friend" for $300 that I found at Walmart with the exact same labels and brands for around $45.

As far as how the stock has performed, well great really. It has a 2.5x long eye relief scope on it that just plain works. Taking it apart for cleaning does suck pretty bad. It did however re-zero when put back together, I used a torque wrench and torqued the action screw to the exact same amount. I'll have to either make a mag release extension or buy HTA's version as it isn't as easy as I would like to eject a mag.

The stock hasn't become brittle or soft but I wouldn't use it defensively to butt stroke anyone either. It hasn't faded or discolored from my use of Hoppes #9 or Remoil. The trigger breaks clean but is a little "mushy" on take up. I've been looking at getting a plastic tube or washer to take out some of the take up. It's a factory trigger though. I had to mod my gunsafe, I built a hook to hang it on the door inside because it wasn't long enough to sit upright and not fall over. I think my nephew likes it better than I do (and I really like it alot!), he put 500 rounds through it when he came down in one sitting. All in all it's a fun, short, different kind of 10/22 and I'm pleased as pie that I bought it!

I'm glad you like the stock. I happened to be on Sportsmansguide.com tonight and I was surprised to see a Made In USA stock very similar to the one you linked to but this one is only $108. It fits the 10/22 and the Mini 14. Maybe those who thought $255 was too much might be interested in a $108 version. Personally I like my 10/22 just fine as is. lol

Sorry, I upgraded my phone, I went mil-spec! I got the Rugby Pro and I'm still tinkering with the camera. It has got pretty wet, my pockets were soaked when a customers truck broke down outside. I put a water pump on in pouring rain and it still works. It's good to 3 meters, at least that is what the book said (which is quite large). I'll try today or tomorrow for you guys!

Those have been out for some time now. I looked at those but after reading many bad reviews and seeing so many unhappy people that got them I stayed away. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for most times. I do have one exception of that rule with a Choate stock I got for my Savage 110 but it was $225 compared to many stocks that cost around $100 to $150 for my rifle so again not cheap comparatively. They make stocks for Savage that cost $1000 and up also. A flip side to the HTA stock is the Red Jacket bullpup kit that many are unhappy with because of some problems, they are $299 so you can go both ways I guess.

I've not met many people that are unhappy with a middle ground cost of pretty much any product made. Just the way it is I guess. That's my take on product quality in this day and age for what my .02 is worth.
