I finally got the Taurus 1911 that I asked about a couple of weeks ago, and I have a quick question that I hope someone can answer.

I started looking for more spifferific grips and found a couple of websites that had an option for ambi-safety and Taurus cut. While I was doing a site search, I saw people talking about getting standard screws. If I got the standard screws would any grips cut for ambi-safety fit or is there something else custom to the Taurus?

Also, other than different grips, are there any other non-standard parts?

Standard grips should fit fine. If your safety is ambidexterous, on both sides, make sure your grips are ambi cut. There will be a small cut on the top rear of the right grip to accomodate the right side safety.

I got some fancy wood grips off ebay, asked the guy for an ambi cut and voila! I"m good to go. the taurus screws fit the new grips just fine. apparently the hogue's are ok with taurus screws too.
