I just bought my first Taurus autoloader, a 24/7 Pro in 9mm. I chose it over a Ruger and a S&W mostly because of the feel of the trigger and the way the grip fits my hand. One question I have after reading the manual is should the safety be applied when carried with a round in the chamber? What I mean is, it feels like the SA trigger pull is completing the striker retraction, kinda like a Glock, rather than just releasing the cocked striker. If it is like a Glock in that respect, is it safe without the safety on?

Yes, If you have one in the chamber put the safety on. I just got a 24/7 pro in .45 caliber and it is the same. Single action unless a mis fire happens then it goes to double action.
