Wow, thanks everyone, I never would have thought the results would be so overwhelming! I truly was torn between the two for their unique purposes, but this has confirmed that little push I was feeling toward the revolver. Thanks again!
Honestly though, the Colt LW Commander is probably my favorite carry gun, and the Bisley is my favorite hunting gun. I'd honestly be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the two.
Forty-five Defenders are great to carry, not so much to shoot. If you can lay hands on a real, steel Officers, it's a much better thing. A 9mm Commander is great too, or 9mm Defender.
Yeah, a .45 ACP Mountain Gun would be the deal.

I don't really "get" SA revolvers, but I own several N-frame S&W .45LC revolvers and can recommend them whole-heartedly.
I think 1911s and S&W revolvers epitomize some of the best designs of the semi-auto and revolver genres, and my modest collection features several of each.
JMHO, YMMV, LOL, ROFLMAO, TANSTAAFL, AYSMFCBM, and so on...
Good luck with whatever you decide, and please let us know how it works out.
