Made ya look.

Actually it is an cartridge adapter that will allow .45 Long Colt ammo to be used in a .450-.577 Martini Henry. Yeah I know a little .452 bullet on top of 40 gr of bp is an inaccurate powder puff load in a MH, but when the opportunity rose to acquire one of these for a future MH, I couldn't resist. Kind of like when Tap-o-Caps show up on ebay. The way this thing is made, it just might be possible to handle a .45 bpm cartridge in an MH. Won't really know until I find a real MH, not a KP copy.

I did that with my 16 gauge shotgun Elhombre. When I went to South Dakota to hunt birds I found gun shops few and far between, as a matter of fact EVERYTHING is few and far between in that part of the country, and 16 gauge shells were impossible to find. So I bought a pair of Gaugemates

I could find 20 gauge ammo but not 16, so if I go again and if I run out of ammo I'll just buy the 20 gauge ammo for my 16 gauge double barrel.

That got my wonderin, if its this bad today with our distribution system and highways how bad was it back in the 1700's and 1800's getting ammo? I guess that's why we see a lot of longrifles built in Pennsylvania or North Carolina ending up in an old cabin in Montana or an old barn in Texas.

Thanks for the link. The Gaugemate adapters would really expand the useful versatility I can get from my break open shotguns.

I wonder what the reenactors at Malta's Fort Rinella use?

Your very welcome Sir!!! :)

I kinda knew I was going to have trouble so I took more ammo than I needed but if I ever go again I know for certain I can get ammo.
