Has anyone seen or fired one of the new Romanian built AKs M+M are bringing in. My local dealer has a couple, I see them on Buds, on Centerfire, and on Classicarms. They have a Hogue grip, rail and funky (but cool) muzzle break. They run about $500, thinking about getting one.

No doubt the "coolest" looking WASR off-the-shelf IMO!
I've put a lot of rounds through the one my wife bought this spring. As far as off-the-shelf WASR's are concerned this one ranks in the upper tier.

The action runs smooth, all of the parts were properly installed and the TAPCO trigger assy. they used has been great.
The M&M quad rail hand guard is very sturdy. NO wiggle or wobble even after a great deal of shooting.
These have the std. front sight removed and instead use the combination gas tube support, front sight combination. (shorter sight radius, oh well)
Like with all WASR's the Only thing I can complain about is the Magazine Well. You'll notice it has no dimples and can allow some metal magazines to be a bit wobbly. Plastic mags, although plastic, have been the most reliable in the M&M's I've worked with.
The Funky Muzzle Brake is called the "Razor or RAZR". You can pick on up most anywhere now for about $20-$25. You're supposed to be able to drive it through or into nearly anything in front of you that, for what ever reason, needs a rifle barrel stuck in it. I was crazy enough to test the advertisement, on dry wall, plywood etc.. It Works.

All-in-all I'm very pleased with them...For what they are.

I have a Romanian AK, it's an older one but I love it, takes a lickin' and keeps on BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANGin'. I like the look of the grip on that one, thinking about replacing mine, it's the stock pistol grip and I have pretty big hands so I was thinking of getting a SAW grip or something.

I'll probably get a Russian AK some day, but I'm still going to have my Romanian for the rest of my life.

Just got one from Bud's store did not take to range yet, waiting for case to come in.
It looks cool, very well build, don't like the plastic Promag cames with it, not holding in place and wobbling if you manage finaly to put it in. Bought metal ones, fit like a glove.

Other thatn the RAZR muzzle device they look pretty good. If only there was a way to stuff yet another rifle into the safe I'd be ordering that M10-22 22LR version.

I went ahead and bought one. So far very impressed with what it is for the money. Way better than a Century build. I hate the mag included like CZ-75BD had said, got metal ones on the way.
Will probably get it duracoated or something similar, if it turns out to be as fun to shoot as it looks.

I have one I picked up from buds a couple months ago. I want to like it as it fits well, I like the sights and the trigger is nice enough but I think I have been having bad luck with it failing to feed... hopefully it is just a mag issue. The plastic one that is included will fail to feed and skip over the round often, especially when the mag is half empty (weak spring maybe??) So I went and picked up a 20rnd surplus tanker mag from CTD, now this one jams up when feeding the round and get hung up on something on the mag or the feed ramps... cannot tell yet, I think it may be getting caught up on the mag as it only happens on the rounds stacked on the left from what I can tell when unloading the mag by hand. I took apart the mag and smoothed out the edge and have not had a chance to see if this fixes it. I cannot tell if it's the feed ramp on the rifle or the mag yet so we will see. I want to buy or borrow some other ak mags first before I form a full opinion on the rifle.

Mags feeding properly has been the main/only frustration I've had with the M10-7.62's. Like I noted earlier, my wife's prefers the plastic mags, never had a fail-to-feed with the plastic. Of the 4 metal mags she bought, 2 work flawlessly, 1 occasionally jams with less than 1/2 a mag. And one just plain won't play nice at all. A mag that "fails in one M10 is just as likely to "work" in another, (in my experiance)
The only common demoninator I've noticed, and it's by no means absolute, is that the mags with Larger, bulkier tabs on the front of the mag, tend to give me more trouble.
When I get back home I plan to do some measuring/spec/detail and see if my theory has any merit

I don't like the front sight setup. I don't know why you would change the original AK design and give it an even SHORTER sight radius. Even on the regular ones sight radius isn't all that great. But at least the original setup puts the front post where it needs to be -- out on the end of the barrel.
