AMMO inc. will soon expand into a new facility in Manitowoc Wi. , not far from where I sit.

With all the worry and gloom that overshadows the gun/ammo industry these days it is good to see some positive news. The new facility will not reverse the tide nationwide , but it is some good news.
(Not bad for the local economy up there either.)

I hope they start their own reliable primer lineup, I'll be first to test em if they offer* components!

Is it going in the ice machine factory or the Faberware factory?

Ammo inc. acquired the Jagemann Stamping Co. brass division , supplier of brass to the munitions industry. I guess that Ammo Inc. prefers to get it's brass from Ammo Inc.

On a side note , if you are ever in Manitowoc again , take the time to tour the USS Cobia (SS-245) , a Gato class WWII submarine that has an impressive service record, now restored and berthed at the Manitowoc Maritime Museum.

I am going to take it on good faith that the management folks of Ammo Inc. would not commit $27,000,000 to a new plant if they did not have access to raw materials.

Now - Back to the gloom!!!

It's a business venture. Given the ammo climate for the foreseeable future I'm thinking it's a safe bet. The existing companies that make ammo are very large and have cornered the market to the point that they no longer need civilian sales and small retail. They more or less cater to LE and military because of the size of those contracts. Small retailers get squeezed out of the picture when the demand increases. I expect to see more small companies popping up during this drought. I don't think we can expect ammo to go back to 2019 prices......ever. 0.50/rd may be the new normal for 5.56 and 0.25/rd for 9mm. I saw all this coming about 10 years ago and learned to reload my own center fire ammo.

Someone let me know when the prices drop back to 2019 levels because I don't follow retail ammo prices.

As a side note I started baking my own sour dough bread. ;) Things are not getting better. We'll be lucky to maintain what we have.

Now back to the doom and gloom.

Is this why I can't get Jagmann brass cartridge cases anymore----- Sites keep saying they are out of stock-----I wonder if they will ever start on cases again?

Your uncle was lucky to have come home. I wish I could have meet him.
The Cobia tour is truly fascinating - I've taken it 3 times over the years.
About 15 years back I was en route port to port on Lake Michigan when I sighted the Cobia a few miles off. She was under tow on the way to a yard for service. The tug was quite separated from the submarine having paid out several hundred yards of tow lie , being miles offshore. Squinting into the sun I was able see that vessel all on her own as she looked when on patrol in the Pacific. Gave me goose bumps.

I know that I've wandered off topic , but the diversion is badly needed this particular day.

On topic side note : I was pleased to learn that the government of the city of Manitowoc is supportive of the new ammunition plant.
You can't take anything for granted anymore.

I wonder if they will sell cases to reloaders and are they going to manufacture their own primers and bullets, locally we have an ammo manufacturer that also sells to reloaders and the last time I talked with them they had over 3 million primers on backorder and bullet and brass selection was hit or miss.

Inside the new building, the company will make bullets for both the general public as well as the military.

...I wonder if it's just bullets they will be making or actual ammo?
