My new toy showed up today, finally:D After sending my MO to the wrong address:cuss: and a 2 1/2 week wait, my new RRA 9mm, is home. Now I gotta go zero the eotech:)

Just ran 100rds through it, and I'm very pleased:D It ran perfect on the factory mag, but neither of the C-Products mags I bought work. FTF and stovepipe jams galore. I read somewhere that the feed lips need some material removed to function. The factory mag will not lock the bolt open, but the C-P mags did, go figure. I zeroed the eotech at 25 yrds, and it stayed the same out to 50. Shot a bunch of 3 holes touching, groups off the rest, at 25yrds. I gotta admit, the recoil is plenty noticeable, and that supprised me. I figured a 7# rifle would eat it up, and feel like a 22. Now I need to modify some mags:)

Thanks guys! C Products has a disclaimer on their web site, to lower the mag block in RRA rifles, .015-.020, for the mags to work. Well see how that goes. My 11yr old son can't get enough of this gun, He shot it almost as well as I did yesterday:)

Hey JD. That looks and sounds great. I hope mine shows up this week. I intend to put an old Aimpoint 5000 I have on it. Thanks for the tip in your other thread and answering my PM. I dropped my MO in the mail last Tuesday AM. :)

I have read on arfcom the Pmags have some issues, but it seems they can be made to work.

Walkalong,
Bet your serial# is very close to mine:D Talk to RRA this morning, said none of their converted uzi mags hold the bolt open, good thing with this lower is just remove the mag block, and get a .223 upper, and your good to go for a true rifle caliber. The newer 9mm only lower, is just that, no long cartridges:)

Forney,
Olympic offers a 45 upper assembly

Update

After moving the mag block down .015, all mags now run 100%:)

Winston_Smith Nice tool, does it just take Uzi mags?
The gun is supplied with one, 25rd modified uzi mag

Nice rifle!!.I have a bushmaster carbon15 in 9mm too and they are a lot of fun to shoot, mine only has a regular red dot on it ..my bolt opens on the last round though and i really want to get one more mags but not sure which one to get..

jd so i can remove the magblock and i can get another 223 upper for it??

If your Bushmaster is set up like my RRA, I dont see why not. I'd give them a call to be safe:)

I picked mine up today JDGray.

I the Aimpoint 5000 on it with a mount that came with a S.P.O.T. red dot that I put on my .223 AR using a Burris mount and will try it out this weekend, if not sooner. :D

This may end up being an incredibly retarded question, but I haven't even looked at my RRA 9mm yet. How do I lower the block .15"?

Thanks

There's an allan screw on the frt of the mag block, just loosen it, and slide the mag block down a sliver, tighten the allan. I found a point on the block, to take a referance measurement with my calipers, and just do the math:)

.015-.020 is the amount to drop

Walkalong,
Looks great! And you got a newer rifle by a hundred or so:p

My trigger group is enroute to Bill Springfield for a 4lb smoothy, thanks for the link:)

Bad thing is, when I get my pieces parts back, I won't be able to get it away from this guy:D

JDGray that is a great photo of your son shooting, good job dad . I love seeing young shooters taking to the sport, nice carbine BTW.

That is what my Kel-Tec is for. At least that way I'll get to shoot it some while they shoot the Kel-Tec. I sold a CX-4 Storm to help finance the RRA. It was a good little carbine, but it just did not flip my switch.

Your boy looks like a natural. Must be his teacher, huh. :)

Thanks for the comments! We were shooting at 100yrds, a streatch for the 9mm, without magnification. We still managed to keep everything in a 8" group.
