Hi everyone,

At the Houston gun show, I handled an Armscor MAPI FS in 9mm today. Here's a link to the company's website and these "MAPI" guns: http://www.armscor.com.ph/newprod.htm.

I don't know how long these guns have been on the market (it's the first time I've seen them). Good solid feel in the hand, internal rails, good tight slide to frame fit. Armscor offers the same gun with a polymer grip, but I think I'd go with the all-steel version. It comes in full size and compact, both with 16 round capacity, with 4.45'' and 3.66" barrels respectively. The price was very reasonable, at $336 + tax.

I'm thinking about one. Anyone here at THR with real world experience with this gun?

Did it say Tanfoglio anywhere on it? Or Italy? Those have to be Tanfoglio's. I like the polymer compact one. Sharp little pistol.

Noot

Oops...Nevermind. A further search on their site reveals that they are in fact Tanfoglio guns. That is good, because I have two and love them. You will be very satisfied with a 9mm steel from them. The nice thing too, is that you get two mags instead of the usual one from them. My 10mm and .45 have been perfect by the way.

The gun said "Assembled in the Philippines" , but no Tanfoglio markings or "made in Italy" anywhere. Since Armscor has got Tanfoglio pistols on their website (did they acquire the Italian firm?), I guess you're correct that there's a connection.

It appears EAA no long is importing the Tanfoglio "small frame" 9mm & .40S&W. I believe RIA/Armscor has a relationshio with Tangfoglio and is making the small frame CZ clones under the RIA name.

I too saw these at the HGCA show, they looked well made. If you look under the "partners" sidebar in the link posted above, you'll see RIA, Charles Daly, STI, & Tangfoglio listed.

I wonder if they take standard CZ 9mm/.40S&W mags. If they share mags, I could see picking one up, If I'd need new mags I'm pretty much set on genuine CZ and the EAA clones so I'd likely pass.
