New Article on Pasadena Shooting (Joe Horn)

I actually think a lot of people are missing the point on this thread.

Had these guys been arrested at the scene by the police, they would have made bail and disappeared on the street again and be robbing houses. Both of the guys had long rap sheets. They had trouble establishing their identity first, as they had something like 5 - 6 id cards between them.

The system had failed. In fact THE SYSTEM FAILED EVERYTIME THEY DEALT WITH THESE GUYS. It failed finally when the police didn't arrive fast enough.

WE THE PEOPLE hire the police as a matter of convenience. The interests of justice are not served by me working my job and then having to go out and take care of criminals. It would be quick and brutal and that about describes what happens when citizens have to clean up their areas (ergo Joe Horn shot those guys). Criminals should want to comply with the police. Criminals should recognize that the police are their to protect our rights and THEIR rights.

The alternative should scare them. The alternative is that they get shot when under normal police circumstances they would not have been. Why do you think criminals are afraid of an armed populace?

I myself would have stayed inside, but that is really just a matter of preference. We should not have to tolerate crime. We should not have to witness a crime and be required to do nothing. Anyway who says that property is "not worth shooting someone" has never been robbed and doesn't understand property to begin with.

For what it is worth I wish this guy was my neighbor. If evrybody had neighbor like mr Horn this world would be a better place

I am sorry if I missed something but I listened to the tape over 10 times .. Did he not say "they are getting away" .. Why does everyone (On THR only) keep saying they were coming towards him??

If it were me and they were two white guys, shooting them would be a much easier decision. I would not have some bleeding heart questioning why I shot two white guys in the midst of commiting a criminal act.

Personally in one way I am glad he took them off the street. However, I believe he will stand trial sooner or later. He did not have to leave his house and go on the defensive.

While I hope he gets off, I don't think he will.

Q-X is an absolute loser....unfotunately just about everyone in the Houston area knows who this loser is. He purposely puts his face in front of a camera whenever any non-white person is killed or injured by a white man. He still doesn't understand that white people are minorities in Texas too.

This is what Texas has become. We dont mind that a couple illegal thugs are breaking the law, we are more concerned that Joe killed those dirtbags. The only thing I would have done different would be that I would have hung up on that dispatcher after telling them that bad guys were in my neighbors house! Then I would have sat in my front yard with my video camera and my rifle let things happen from there. The 911 is what has everyone so upset.

What I liked was that the only ones resorting to racism was the quannel supporters, the neighborhood is one that I wished I lived in, they took the high road!

I'm glad I could share that vid. I was quite impressed with the neighborhood. I like to see the BG's become uncomfortable and squirm a little. It really cracked me up when at one point you can hear someone yelling "get a real job!". My thoughts exactly...
