i had problems shooting both of my 45's accurately (glock 21sf, taurus mil pro). my .40 is ok (also a glock), but pushing it. so i thought i'd to try out 9mm for a change. did some research, and decided to go with a sig p226 equinox. this was my first sig handgun. it shoots straight, and runs great. and i have no problem keeping it under tight control like i did the 45's.

i made it my new bedside gun. i don't think it will be my last sig purchase.

phaed-Very Nice Gun!

I shoot my Best with my .45's, My 9mm is a very close second. And although I am pretty darn good with my .40, it falls into third place. 9mm is a good home defense gun. The 124gr +P Remington Golden Saber and the Speer Gold dot 124gr +P. Are a couple of excellent defensive rounds. The Winchester Ranger T 147gr is probably the best. The Sig is a very well made combat pistol. You made an Excellent choice!

Congratulations!

It looks like you've found your ideal firearm. It is important to have one you feel good about and shoot well!

Do you have nightsights on it too? If not, I highly recommend them be added later on. The shooting light is wonderful when you want to light someone up, but the light will also give the other guy something to shoot towards without even aiming much . . . and you, or someone you love, may get hit by a wild shot.

The night sights allow you to remain undetected for those times when you choose not to betray your position.

BOTH the light and the nightsights have their times when one or the other is best for the situation, of course.

If it has nightsights on the Sig, make sure to cover the firearm so a perp won't see the three little "lightening bugs" on the nightstand before you wake up.;) Other than this risk, the nightsights cannot be detected in front of the firearm.

Enjoy your new "baby!"

Sweet!

Great choice, that has got to be the prettiest, yet deadliest flashlight, I have ever seen.. :what:

I can agree with the choice of 9mm for the bedside gun, as my Sig P229 CT 9mm with the Crimson Trace Laser Grips, is also my nighttime, bedtime, gun of choice.

Personally, Hornady 124gr JHP's Tap is what I load and, when I'm gone, I load it with Federal 115gr JHP's, as to match what my wife and I both use in FMJ range ammo, to stay consistent with accuracy using both the same, or very close in weight, JHP's.

Enjoy her, she will take care of you and yours.. :)

PS.. what ever you do, do not look at any wood grips for her.. lol

the equinox series does come with night sights. the model i have is just plain tritium. the newest model puts a TFO on the front post. the flashlight has a momentary switch support hand side by your thumb...the always on is by your trigger finger. it's very easy to light a BG up just long enough to check your backplane and get a shot off without revealing your position.

shot some corbon +P at the range today (what i bought for HD ammo) and it ran good. i'll check out the ammo you recommended.

Looks like you you bought a Mini Vault to store it in. You have made great choices in your hand gun, and gun safe!

The only reason I say it is..

Like you, I too, at first, loaded mine up with 147gr +P JHP's but found that accuracy changed enough, between the range 115gr FMJ and those, that after some reading, joined the ranks that stand-on, first, shot placement, then; use the same weight ammo, you use for range practice, the same for HD/SD in JHP's, as the gun does shoot, and react/recoil wise, much different IMHO, with any +P ammo.

Either 115gr or 124gr works well in JHP.

But, I like Corbon's ammo, good stuff.

Neat!

You'll love TFO's.

More Sigs? 229 in .40. Then a Bar Sto 9mm barrel.

(I can spend your money too, right? :D)
