New Beretta Brigadier

That's my #1 desire too, Oregon. I want a 92 Compact, G-Type, possibly a single stack (though I'd like double and single available). I have committed fully to the 92 as my primary HD and car platform, and I want to be able to have a carry version so my "serious" guns are all 92-platform.

At some point I'll add a 92G to the collection and give it the mods currently given to my 92FS (WC fluted guiderod, D-spring, steel trigger, good grips), and have a 92G / 92G Compact system.

That's the dream.

Shipwreck - Thanks for your reply - Did you have any problems with scratches or damage when you shipped your slides to Tooltech? I'm not implying that they are careless - just wanted to get some feedback ... Thanks again!

No, I had no issues with any marks that weren't already there on any of the times I used Tooltech Gunsight.

Usually, the turn round was 2 weeks - INCLUDING the time for my slide to get to them

Tooltech Gunsight is a first class operation. Trijicon sends you directly to them for warranty work. My order was handled same as Shipwreck's.

I would think that the 92 Compact Type M single stack would sell very well these days. Nice Brig by the way...

An FFL member of the Beretta forum just said that his store is getting new INOX Vertecs in next week. Boom!

The regular frame fits me perfectly, but I'm so glad to see further evidence that Beretta is finally acknowledging some of the desires of its fans and other consumers.

I love this gun and if they would sell a G version it would be mine!!!!

Yea, the local shop had the Inox me... I was TEMPTED, but went for the black?

All I can say is Beretta must be driving the holster makers crazy.

Straight or angled frame? Rail or no rail? Brigadier slide or regular? Rail with or without Brigadier slide? Vertec slide? Where will it end?

I'm shocked you even gave the INOX one a second glance.

Well, out of any Inox 92, the Inox Brigadier interests me the most. So, I did consider it a bit.... But, in the end, I couldn't do it

This is partially correct.

Then they get delivered to Wilson, and Wilson inspects them for fit, finish, trigger smoothness, and smooth operation in general.

I know of one owner who got his gun, and the barrel was scratched up. He contacted Wilson, and Bill Wilson posted a comment on the Beretta forum that anyone who has an issue with the finish on their barrel can send the barrel to Wilson for a free refinish.

So different issues are being handled in different ways, and Wilson is taking a hand in the assembly and inspection of the guns.

None of that was what the owner of my LGS was told when a couple of the "Wilsons" built by Beretta had come in with finish issues. Beretta told him to call Wilson. WC told him they had to go back to a Beretta, and when Beretta sends them to Wilson for shipment, Wilson does nothing to them. They don't even open the boxes. I was standing there while he was on the phone with them, and he was really surprised at what they said. The pistols were returned to Beretta for service. He's a Wilson dealer with a case full of their pistols.

One could only hope since mags are unobtainium now-a-days..

All the Brigadiers are USA made models.

Yes, the sights can be swapped out a little easier. I have used Tooltech Gunsight like 5 or 6 times in the past, however. If you send the sight to Trijicon to get the sights installed, it isn't that much cheaper than getting the front sight drilled at Tooltech, however

Don't tell that to my pistol...it is an Italian made Brigadier...bought it in the late 90's...when the first run was imported.

Inox Brigs currently in stock at Bud's for $725 or so.

Someone please tell me why I don't need to buy one right this minute. Something about how my credit cards are already running really hot and Beretta will keep making them.

I paid $700 + tax for mine. Not too bad.

In Jan or Feb I will probably send the slide off for night sights. That's usually how I like to run my 92s. Even in the day, I usually find those white circles around the tritium easier to pick up with my eyes than just the plain white dots. Although, the dots are bigger on the Brigadier than on a standard 92FS. So, they are a little easier to see.

Ha! That's like going to a keg party with a buch of alcoholics and asking them to tell you why you shouldn't drink.

I bet your right. On that note, does anyone have any suggestions on good Brigadier holsters? I like Safariland, but a Google search didn't really yield many results. Any suggestions?

I looked at Comptac and Bladetech yesterday for IWB Brigadier holsters, buT I didn't see any. Maybe we'll see more made in the near future.

^ If the weather holds Ship, bring it to the range and Ill bring an old Fobus and a file. we'll make it fit!

You're in Alaska headed for a long winter right? Might I suggest a new hobby of holster making? I ended up making a holster and 4 speedloader pouches for my wife's S&W 386 Nightguard so she could take a 2 day defensive handgun course. I think they turned out pretty nice. My practice was 1 crappy knife sheath followed by 1 passable sheath then on to the holster. Took me a lot of trial and error to set the tension, but next time will be quicker.

A holster for an auto and mag pouches would be a lot easier since they are thinner.

I didn't save any money (if in theory someone made what I needed), but now I have the tools, knowledge, 1 crappy and 1 ok sheath, and some extra materials. Here on out; 1 off holsters, sheaths, and pouches will be cheap and easy. Who makes a kydex M1 Carbine mag pouch? Now I can!
