Hi, Guys! I just stumbled upon this forum while doing an internet search for "pistol for sale in texas individual", and thought I would let you know what I'm in the process of doing.....

That is, I'm setting up a Classified Ad site for people (individuals, primarily, though dealers will be welcome to post) to sell their firearms BY STATE, within that state (among the usual categories that go with classified ad sites! If the firearm feature catches on and gets big enough, I'll eliminate the other categories and dedicated it to this mission....).

I'm still working on the site. Hoping to have it done in about a week (Nov.11ish), You MIGHT be able to post now (though the State feature has not yet been implemented), but you will NOT get a confirming email b/c that's part of the unfinished work.

At this point, all ads are FREE.

If you want to place an ad that you KNOW will get published, you can email me the details, price, etc., and I'll be sure it gets posted ASAP. Send it to foodstr4 AT gmail.com

If you'd like to view the UNFINISHED classified site, go to:

You might want to bookmark it to buy or sell....

Best regards,

Bruce

Hi foodstr2,

While it sounds good in theory I would have to wonder that since it is on the 'net' and the information crosses state lines if the Fed could not rightly claim it would affect interstate trade and ergo fall under BATF regulation. Considering wheat grown for your own consumption falls under interstate trade just about anything would.

I wish you luck though

Selena

Does BATFE have anything to say about the Buy/Sell/Trade section here at THR?

Oh and the FedGov uses the "commerce clause" to regulate anything they want, whether or not they're supposed to...

What regulations would apply here? He's not stocking and shipping firearms, just providing a venue for classified ads ... no different than sites like Gunbroker, Auction Arms, Guns America, etc.

The only reason sites like eBay and Craigslist don't allow firearms listings is because they are run by rabid anti gun folk, not because of any laws.

Thanks, Selena, for your cautionary note. I'm hoping that my disclaimer under the page "title" will keep me out of trouble. I was really surprised to find no one else has done this until now.... (at least that I can find!)

I want to set it up where the Buyer/Seller will have to CHOOSE a state from a drop-down box. Hopefully that will minimize people trying to commit interstate firearm commerce....

PS - At this time the ONLY way to get to the classified page is through this link.

Until the page is usable, I won't be posting links from our website to it. Just FYI....
