New Fedex rules on shippings firearms?

Hi guys,

Has Fedex just made it easier for us to ship firearms to an FFL holder? (for example to a gunsmith for custom work).

I looked at their website: http://www.fedex.com/us/freight/rulestariff/prohibited_articles.html

It doesn't contain any indication that priority overnight is needed. These rules were revised Aug. 31, 2009.

Shipping priority overnight has been my biggest reason not to send guns out of state, but if this has truly changed, then this is truly good.

That set of rules applies to FEDEX Freight, which is different than FEDEX Express or Ground. Here are the FEDEX express terms and conditions. If you click on the heading that says firearms, you will see that nothing appears to have changed.

I shipped a long gun gun out via Fedex Ground to an FFL dealer yesterday. There is no need to ship overnight, only pistols.

The woman I dealt with was knowledgeable, only asked me if any ammo was enclosed.

Weighed it, measured it, and I was on my way in just a few minutes.
