It looks like every other Glock, but this one's mine
It has the "03" spring that some have had troubles with. No problems here!
The first 85 rounds were Winchester NATO 124gr. Ate them like a champ, no problems. I kept the remaining 15 rounds to load up into a mag for home defense.
The next 90 rounds were Winchester white box 115gr, no problems. I had 10 rounds left by the time the sun was going down, I guess I can use them next trip to the range.
Do 175 rounds tell me this pistol is flawless? Nope, but it's a good start. I was really nervous with all of the bad reviews I'd read recently on the Glock gen4's.
Before going to the range, I did do the following:
Field stripped and removed some of the "extra" copper anti-seize compound that had pooled up in places - no need for globs of stuff in the action! Put some Lubriplate 130A grease (i have plenty for my M1 Garand) on the little metal rails on the frame and on the barrel where it hits the slide. Just a little bit, enough to work into the metal. I also put some into the slide's rails. This has done me well with my 1911A1, too.
I also locked open the action overnight, just to try and let the spring loosen up a little.
While shooting, I did try a mag of one-handed shooting, no malfunctions. Heck I even tried "gangsta style" side shooting to the amusement of my friend - no malfunctions. I was just trying to see if I could force a limp-wristing malfunction, but nothing happened.
I'm so far very happy with my new 19 gen4.
I've read so many negative reviews of the gen4's and figured I'd chime in my experiences. I will keep in mind, though, that if I find some issues occurring like FTE's and FTF's that a call to Glock service may be in order for a weaker spring - the 04 spring - but for now, if it ain't broke, I ain't fixin it.
