Tennessee Arms sent out an email yesterday announcing that they are working on a Glock style replacement frame. They don’t have any information on their website yet but this is the info they sent in the email.

I plan to get one as soon as they are available.

The CAD image looks like it is missing some holes so maybe 80% or just unfinished. I think an 80% would be smart...

...but if they are Gen3, it looks like they reverse engineered Gen5 features for the Gen3 parts.

Still, I'm waiting on the Dasan/AlphaFoxtrot frames

I wish someone made a G42 frame. I could even agree to a longer grip that mandates ETS magazines, or other straight-body magazines for the 42.

I see the serial number plate under the dust cover. How can you change a serial number? It would have to be transferred through an FFL. And I don’t know if they still do it, but I remember my old Glock had the serial number in the frame, the barrel, and the slide.

The aftermarket products for guns has gotten insane. Different colors! Sign me up for a leapord print frame! It will look great with the Pjnisher logo on the striker plate and the “wait for the flash” written around the muzzle!

If they are sold as a finished stripped lower, it will have a SN#. It would be transferred through a FFL just like an AR lower.
Some countries require that the barrel, slide and frame to have the SN#. Here in the US only the frame is required. So it really doesn’t matter what numbers are on the slide and barrel.
About all the different colors on guns these days. If that what it takes to get more people into guns and shooting, I see that as a good thing and no reason to belittle the ones that like the different colors.

I agree, the more people in the shooting sports the better. If someone enjoys shooting chances are they won't vote for anti-gun laws. If that's what it takes, I'm also fine with it.

While I'm in favor of people entering this market space, if my experience with their hybrid lowers is any indicator I'll be staying away from their other offerings.

Whatever they like is Ok with me. The Glock 19 I was issued 25 years ago had the identical numbers on frame, slide, and barrel.

As for aftermarket stuff, what somebody wants to spend their money on is up to them. Just seems like a total waste of money. And it’s an industry that caters to a certain crowd.

I’ve built four rifles on their lowers and haven’t had any trouble. What issues did you have?

horrific fitment issues with multiple (5) uppers, such that their suggestion was to grind down the curve near the buffer tube bushing (which didn't work), and then finally oval out the front and rear take down pins (which sort of did, but makes them so sloppy I'm worried the pins will pop out during disassembly.) I wasn't offered the option to exchange them for replacement either. They're so bad I can't even sell them with a clear conscience.

When they moved to their current location they did have some stuff that was out of spec, but they got that straight. I got one of the lowers that the front was out of spec. I talked to Dave and all he did was piss me off. When I called back I asked for April. She had me a new lower in less then a week. She also told me that they took Dave's phone away form him. Call them up and ask for replacements. Let them know the problems but don't talk with Dave.

Seems like it's surprisingly difficult for the aftermarket to get Glock frames right.

It looks like this one has retained the Glock hump, so I'll have to pass.

I guess another phone call can't hurt. I'll see what they say. It was Hannah I dealt with back in mid-2016.

Gunny,

Do you literally know everybody in the firearms community?
I know a few and most of them I like. :)
Back in 1994 I was at the Shot Show and bumped into a guy while checking out the rifle at Ruger’s booth. We started shooting the bull. I told him I wish Ruger put something better then select cabinet grade on theM77’s. He got an odd look on his face and said, What?? I told him that Ruger put nice wood on the M77’s but you sometimes fine filler or just not a good cut. He asked, what did you call the wood. I told him again that it was select cabinet grade. He got an odd look on his face and told me his name, which I forgot, and told me that he was in charge of production at Ruger. We ended up sitting at his desk for about an hour. He told me that every stock that went on a Red Label went across his desk first and that he was going to make sure that better wood would be used on the M77s.
Now I don’t have the T-shirt to prove that I was at the 1994 Shot Show, but I do have this.

So cabinets like kitchen cabinet quality?

Also, I was 4 years old during that story... Always time for a good age jab in there...
Yes, like kitchen cabinets. I thought thr guy was just someone checking out Ruger’s display. I really enjoyed talking with him and he was really interested in what I had to say.

That's awesome, I have always heard that Ruger people were always "people people".

But now I have an idea for my next laminate home made sicks.... My fiance is gonna be pissed when all the kitchen cabinet doors are missing....

Some people may need a new frame. I had to send my F.O.P. 1989 special edition in to Glock because it was shooting left. Found out the frame was cracked by the locking block. It was fixed with a gen 3 frame. Gun shoots great now, just got back from the range and proved it once again. Yes it came with a new serial # different than the slide and barrel but what else could they do? Yes it probably is worth less but now it's a dependable gun. Oh well, just a hunk of plastic and steel.

I’d be interested in a replacement frame if they offered a selection of grip textures. I’d love to have a super textured g3 frame, kinda like an RTF but even grippier. If I could get it in green, even better.
